hey guys!
I currently have a GTX 970 with and core i5 6600 and 16 GB of DDR4 Ram. in some games like Battlefield 1, Witcher 3, Mafia 3, Watch Dogs 2 and even Hitman 2016 my CPU usage is around 90% and sometimes reaching fixed 100%.
So my question is if I get a GTX 1070(as i Plan to), will this CPU bottleneck the beast (It is not an outdated/weak cpu!) ? Do I need to upgrade my CPU as well? (1070 costs around 600$ here!)
in my country, most of the tech dudes! don't know shit about PC Builds and just want to drain your money!! I remember one of them actually believed a core i3 will be more than enough for gtx 1080!!! :-D. That's why I Created this topic. Hope u guys could help me out on this

at 1080p an i5 will bottleneck a 1070 when things become cpu intensive... such as in the games you listed. at 1440p and above it will be less of an issue, but as games become more demanding(cpu wise), and gpus more powerful, the cpu bottleneck will reappear sooner with an i5.

Lemme say, tho, if you are doing 1080p/60 there may not be a good case to upgrade anyway.

If 1440 or 1080/144hz then you are good. With a much older cpu at 1080/high in BF1 I avg 120fps with occasional spikes to 144. I dont get any wild drops.

It makes me sick to see that even gtx 1060 and rx 480 just cannot handle new AAA titles at 1080p/60 .. AMD even claims that RX480 could do the job pretty fine at 1440p!!!
that's the main reason I want to go for a gtx 1070

battlefield 1 just eats my 6600 ... fixed 100% CPU usage!! and 70% to 90% GPU usage
