Trouble with second monitor

Hello,

I’m having trouble setting up my second monitor for my computer. Whenever I hook the second hdmi from the second monitor to an hdmi port on my computer, the second monitor stays completely black. I thought maybe it was the fault of my second monitor itself, so I pulled out the hdmi cable to set up another monitor, but then the screen turned on when the connection with the computer was disconnected. I then tried to look for a second monitor using “detect” on “Display Settings”, but nothing was detected. Has anyone run into these problems using a graphics cards similar to the one below?

OS: Windows 10
MB: MSI gaming 7
GC: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 graphics card

Can't really make out the issue, you have two HDMI ports on the video card but can only get one monitor to display when using them? What are you connecting exactly and to what ports? You said "second HDMI form the second monitor" not really sure what you are doing there, you should not have two connections from one monitor going to your computer.
