HUGE improvement in Unigine Valley Benchmark after clean install to Windows 10

I was scoring maximum average as low as 25 fps with my Sapphire RX460 Nitro 4gb yielding a score of 1072 points, using Windows 8.1 OS. I just upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. Same overclock as before, i just hit 44 fps average, yielding above 1840 points. I mean this is hilarious. I was expecting an improvement but this is like double performance. Can anyone explain? Was my previous OS that corrupt or what?

Solution

Probably your previous install was full of crap of older drivers and such that it was having trouble. A clean install is always a nice way to make sure you are getting max performance.

Agreed, but strange is that i 've seen other's benchmarks with the same card and Valley settings hitting the same crap score under Windows 8.1.

This can sometimes happen. Not too common but perfectly possible.
