Hi, I just installed the C7 cooler. I ran a before and after benchmark with stock cooler and the c7. with the c7 the temps are idling about 41/42c and 63c on benchmark. The stock cooler was 34c idle and 60c benchmark. Yes I added the right amount of thermal, and yes I did remove the plastic cover....going to remove it and re-thermal again just for good measure....any ideas?

having a 40-60C idle/load spread isn't bad at all.

Benchmark? There are many out there. Intel's Burn Test is one of many.

Are you sure the airflow is exhausting out the back of the case? You can add a second one. Ambient temperature? https://s5.postimg.org/4ljhgdb5j/compare1.png Ambient temps make a big difference.

Thanks...I just came off of an overclocked fx 6300 with a water cooler and idle was 16-47c and was kinda hoping not to use it on this processor. I have an InWin 303 with 7 fans/ my house is sitting around 77F right now. I might just put the AOI in on this rebuild. Wanting to keep temps down in vegas....Thanks

Thank you... I know they are safe, just was wondering why higher than stock cooler, that's all. Was hoping to get slightly lower temps from this new cooler then the stock. Oh well. I'll put my zalman 240mm in to lower the temps... Thanks

I have the same spec here in a Elite 110 Cube.
The temps are same between 40-62 degrees.

I'm ok with 62 degrees, but C7 when it runs at 2500rpm is very noisy.
So I'm going to change it to Arctic Freezer 120 this week. If it can give the same temps running at 1350rpm, I'll be satisfied.

I'll let you know when I install it.

It is made for a smaller form pc case, not a normal mid tower. I sold mine off and actually purchased a liquid cooler for $70.

Can you share the temps using the liquid cooler?!
Also, which model are you using?!

Thanks.

I just installed it.
idle: 29 degrees (40 before)
load: 48 degrees (62 before)
fan running at 1000rpm, so quiet now :)

I couldn't install 2 fans, because of my PSU is too big.
But I'm very satisfied with only one fan.

I am using a Thermaltake 3.0 360mm (excessive I know) But it looks good in my in win 303 case. In idling around 32c and usually hits 44c/46c while gaming/benchmarking but I haven't looked in a while. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/6FGG3C
