Hello Everyone,

I spend a lot of time in office and I use my computer for my work such as general office work and at times coding. In short I spend at least 8-10 hours a day in front of my pc.

Currently I am using a DELL 21.5" LED monitor (1920x1080). The monitor is good but two or three pixels have burned out and I see dark spots.

I am thinking of upgrading my monitor now and was wondering which one to go for. I want a good one as I spend a lot of time in front of my pc. However I do not want a monitor which is bigger than 25 or 27" as I think they maybe too big.

I was interested in curved displays but some research revealed that they are suitable only if size if 27" or higher otherwise it makes no difference. Budget is around $300 but i live outside the US.

I still wish to go for either Full HD or higher.

What do you guys suggest ?

Cheers,
Jack

With 300$ if you like the really big screens last summer you could get an ultrawide monitor of 29-34'' under 300$.

For work currently in my country (spain) i suppose i would get a 29'' one (LG 29UM58-P) that is only 2560 x 1080 (that is the bad part, you PPIs are a bit low) but you will get a lovely wide screen to work with two documents at the same time etc... at 240€

I am thinking Dell UltraSharp 25 Monitor – U2515H ($400) or Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor – U2415 ($300). What do you guys say ? In case of former one the resolution is 2K so is that fine or higher resolution means smaller icons or content. I wish to keep text size to 100% only in Windows.

Please help me choose between $320 Dell Ultrasharp U2415 or LG 24MP88HM $230.

LG is IPS as well and has no bezel. Whereas Dell has bezel at bottom only but in terms of display quality is suppose to be better.

However 1920x1080 is for LG and 1920x1200 is for Dell. Because resolution of dell is slightly higher does text size become smaller.

u can always scale them n zoom ur ms office program working space to get that perfect view.
and from ur tasks, having an ultrawide is useful for working with multiple windows.
if u r not gonna be doing video editing, photo editing, gaming, the usefulness of ips is moot for u.
so if u ask me, a general purpose monitor with good blue light reduction n eye care features is abt right for u.
if cost is not an issue, go for the dell for its productivity value. hope this helps ;)

Thank you for replying. I will not be gaming or doing video editing. It is for general purpose and coding. However I may watch a few videos.
So what you are saying that I should not go for IPS panel. I didnt understand.

I want a monitor which is better than TN as I like sharp display and want to watch videos also at times.

To sum up I should go for the LG one because :
1) its price is reasonable
2) it has IPS panel
3) bezel less monitor
4) decent picture quality

Finally since I am not using it for gaming, video/photo editing but general computing and coding then that monitor is fine. Watching vidoes at times is also okay because with 1900x1080 resolution it will fit to whole monitor.

Am I correct ? Would you like to add anything.
