Could Windows 7 oem's recovery option work in a Windows 10 system image?

So my hard drive has been showing symptoms of failure and I've decided to back it up (Keep in mind I had windows 7 but upgraded). Say if the hard drive had failed and I wanted a way to recover the data, I still have an oem copy of windows 7 and as far as I am aware it has preinstalled recovery features. If my hard drive failed can I still use it to recover windows 10 or should I use a standard recovery disk?

If your drive is failing, then get a new drive and clone old one to new one, while you still can.
When it fails, your only option will be reinstall. All data (that hasn't been backed up on another storage media) will be lost.

You reinstall windows 10 by creating windows install media first.

Backups and data recovery is done before the drive fails, not after.
