would this work

i have been geeking since 2003 and the only pc i ever got system restore you work on was xp , maybe i am just unlucky... i now have the same problem with both a shop bought pc and a pc specialist built rig both running windows 10 .. i got the op system on disc for the custom built rig.....
i made a recovery program on a usb pen just in case the windows creator program caused me any problems.... the 3 options to use it are , refresh pc without loosing files , automatic repair and reset pc...
as sys restore wont work could i use the refresh option as a type of system restore and make a newer version of the recovery pen every so often.

System restore just keeps a record of system settings so that if you install a driver that does bad things, you can roll the system files back to the date recorded in a system restore point. It doesn't have anything to do with your files. Microsoft have hidden it in Win 10 as they don't want people relying on it, there are better ways to keep backups like onedrive or USB drives or another hdd. System restore was never much good for me and was often the final choice as running it would mess up other applications. I would prefer a fresh install to a system restore.

Did creators edition mess up windows? is there anything on C drive you want to rescue? try making this on another PC...

strangely reset has an option to keep all your files as well, so i wonder what the difference is. If you reset, you can keep files and settings, or wipe it all
