Crackling sound from onboard sound (lots of red bars on latency checker)

ASUS Z270 TUF Mark 1

Front L&R channels crackle - 5.1 headset connected via 3.5mm jacks on motherboard

L&R channels crackle - stereo headphones connected to 3.5mm jack on front panel I/O

And this is what I see:

I've tried disabling network adaptors and sound devices via Device Manager but nothing makes those red bars go away?

if this is a new build make sure if you have wifi the card ant not near any wires. look to see if any of the mb io shield tuching the mb ports or the mb. sometime the shield can cause short.

No WiFi on this build but I will check the IO shield.

The IO shield 'looks' OK but I can't really tell TBH?

from the back and front is should be flush on all 4 sides and should have made a click whe nit locked in.

Uninstalled GPU drivers in safe mode with DDU, then actually physically removed the GPU yet the issue remains, at least that's that ruled out I guess.

Could any BIOS overclock settings cause this issue?

Just loaded defaults to my BIOS and still have the same issue...

I 'may' have fixed it, maybe.

I just installed the latest NVMe storage controller from here:

http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/downloads/software/Samsung_NVM_Express_Driver_22.zip

And now LatMon is showing no issues. I'll have to do some audio tests to confirm so I'll be back here again if the problem is still there.
