monitor goes black and says no signal while playing games

i have an Intel(R) ,Core(TM) and a i5 - 2320 CPU...
when ever i play steam games like tf2 or gmod my screen goes black and says no signal.
sound is working mic is working too but the screen is just black and i need to hard reboot my pc.
so i asked my father and my friends, they say its because of the graphic card or the games i play.
while that i had this pc for over 10 YEARS now and it worked fine until now.
what do i need to do??

This happened to me before and all I had to do was unplug the monitor hdmi cable from the psu and then reconnect and it worked perfectly. I think it has something to so with some internal switching of the GPU.

try to use a another gpu in system for test your could be falling out .

Hi, I've had a simular problem on my computer, it was because of my Geforce experience, the program was apparently outdated, which resulted in the GPU drivers not updating properly. I'd suggest you try and manually find your GPU's Drivers here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and install the latest version.

It should solve the problem

PS: should the problem persist I strongly advice you contact the Nvidia support agency by Live chatting with them, they will get to the bottom of your GPU's issues.

You could also try a new video cable.
