Hi everyone! I did a lot of research but I need some opinions on my next purchase.

I got a R9 390X and I want to upgrade to 144Hz + Freesync. I have to choose between these 2 monitors:

* ViewSonic XG2401
(https://www.amazon.ca/ViewSonic-XG2401-FreeSync-Monitor-DisplayPort/dp/B01A0ZRR50/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493048541&sr=8-1&keywords=xg2401) 1080p 24 inches(337.99$ CAD)
* AOC AG271QX
(http://www.ncix.com/detail/aoc-ag271qx-agon-27in-led-99-135221.htm?affiliateid=7474144&promoid=1500) 1440p 27 inches (Sale right now at 519.99 $CAD)

My concerns are:

1. Will 27 inches be too big for gaming ? (BF1, PUBG, Overwatch mainly, but anything else too.)
2. Will my GPU be strong enough for the 1440p monitor? (However the 1440p monitor has a 30-144hz freesync range)

I might consider upgrading to the new AMD GPU when it is released.
Note that I actually got a basic 22 inches HP monitor @60Hz 1080p.

Thanks for reading!

100 percent go with the 1440p 27 , you will not regret it. 27 inches for 1440p is the sweet spot when it comes to monitor size. Your R9 390X should be fine but do consider upgrading it in the future bud.

Rocking a 1440p 144hz as we speak. Whenever i use something smaller it bothers me to the fullest.

I would say 27". I am currently running an ASUS MX27AQ at 60hz with an aging but capable GTX770. Whether you "need" 144hz is another question for you to decide, but you will not regret a quality 27" in any way.
