so i had come across this:http://www.alphr.com/operating-systems/1000350/how-get%20windows-10-and-burn-to-iso-disc
This took me to microsoft in the instructions. So i downloaded windows 10 onto a thumb drive and tried installing it on my current win 10 pc. And it worked. could i use this with my pc build to save 88 bucks? or am i missing something here?

Solution
Once you activate windows 10 on your PC, or if it came with it, microsoft ties that product key to that PC. You don't need to provide it again, next time you install it.

If you try to do that on a new motherboard that hasn't previously had windows installed, it will need a product key.
