Asus MG278Q doesn't give me the option to select 144hz

As the title says, I just bought an Asus MG278Q Gaming Monitor with the sole purpose of using the 144hz, but I can't seem to find how to switch to the said refresh rate. I tried reinstalling my display driver, unplugging and plugging in again and nothing seems to work.
-Windows 10 64-bit
-Geforce GTX 750ti
-Using a DVI-D cable(?) that came with the monitor


(?) = I'm not 100% sure as I don't know what a DVI-D cable looks like but I google'd it and it seems to be the right one.

you need to use the buttons on the monitor, disable free sync and enabling 144hz.

than go to windows and select 144 hz.

Looking into manual, it says that DVI dual link cable will only work at 60hz max at resolutions 1080p and up (page 3-12). Need HDMI 2.0 or DP cable for 144 hz. Kinda strange, but then are you going to argue with manual ...
