Dual monitors same KB and mouse

I have a gtx 980 to. I want to use a second monitor, main one for gaming and second for desktop apps. Can I keep the visuals separate and use the same mouse an key board on both screens?

Yes you can just need to run the games in windowed full screen mode

I just extend my desktop through windows display settings for my extra monitor and TV. Just make sure the one you want to play games on is checked "make this my main display". I play full screen games just like you would have with one monitor and have whatever I want going on on the other...
