Hey there first time posting. i own a DX4870-ub2c Desktop Computer. Iv'e had it a few years so i was wondering if its worth upgrading or do i need to buy a new one. My main concern is if the cpu and motherboard aren't worth keeping for years to come. I kno for sure i have to upgrade the graphics card (Intel HD Graphics 2500) and power supply (300w) just not sure if its worth doing or just buy new PC. thanks in advance

That i5 will handle a 1060/3 or 480/4 if you so chose, but the 1050ti would be the better budget buy. You could also check ebay for i7-3770/k or Xeon 1230v2 or better if you want better flexibility for more modern games, using upto 8 threads, it'll take some of emphasis from the 4 core minimums. I picked up a i7-3770k for $50 that way. Just might take some time to do, but it'd be worth it IF the bios on that gateway mobo will support those cpus. Some don't.

For a 1050ti you won't need anything more than @350w, a 1060 @450w. Just don't get suckered into buying a piece of junk because of ultra low prices. If the psu doesn't cost @$40 or more (not counting sales or rebates) chances are it's junk. Check the psu list in my signature. You'll be looking for a minimum of tier 3, preferably tier 2 units.
