Can i [degrade] downgrade my windows 10 pro to my windows 8.1 which was pre-installed in the laptop ?

Hi, i had upgraded my windows 8.1 to windows 10 pro with microsoft's free upgrade but now they are showing that the license is going to get over so i was thinking if i could [strike]degrade[/strike] downgrade it to the old windows 8.1 which was pre-installed with the laptop.

please let me know if there is any way.

What exactly is Windows telling you about its license?

Unless you have recovery media or there's a recovery partition on your hard drive, you're out of luck. Recovering your computer to its factory default state will wipe the hard drive, so make sure you've backed up your data first.

2. Was the laptop Win 8.1 Pro initially? Or Win 8.1 Home?
