1440p vs 1080p for 24" monitor with GTX 1060

Okay so I have picked out a few monitors i am really interested in.
They are all pretty much the same price, and has the same specs. (One of them are 1440p.)

The monitors ive been looking at is:
Acer Predator XB241YU
ASUS ROG SWIFT PG248Q
Acer Predator XB241H

So what i am wondering about is:
Is 24" too small for 1440p?
Will my GTX 1060 6GB be able to run new games with decent graphic settings at 1440p, or will it look better with higher settings @ 1080p?

All the monitors are 144hz, Gsync, 1ms btw.

For a 1060, 1080p is the right option. especially so with a 144hz monitor. u need a 1070 min to power up a 1440p 144hz one.

Alright thanks. I didnt expect 144fps/hz in singleplayer games tho, the main reason im buying 144hz is mostly for overwatch and csgo.

So downscaling to 1080p on 1440p monitors on games where i have to doesnt work well either?

u would get 144fps in cs go @ 2k res. for overwatch, u have to downscale.
