Hello all,

This will be my first ever PC build. This is also a finalized version of my parts and I will begin to buy the parts today. I am looking for any criticism, suggestions, and/or discrepancies anyone may find prior to my purchasing later today.

Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PMnFhq

Also, I am kinda looking for a smaller case if possible, without sacrificing MUCH temps or airflow. Prefer any other Fractal Design cases that may be a tad smaller that are great if anyone knows of any?

Thanks for the help.

The define c is smaller mate - doesn't have an optical drive or front flap cover & has 120mm fans rather than 140mm (its 100mm shorter, 60mm narrower)

Good build , you should change the psu though.
The nex g1 isn't that good a PSU.

The GQ & b3 are both better units & the same price more or less.

I'd also drop the h5 in , its $10 more but worth the extra

Yes, installing via USB. Just don't know what is the easiest way of getting a code (just threw that in there to get an idea of price). Easiest to download onto USB via HP laptop? Can you buy digital code on Microsoft and download to USB?

Its cheaper to buy the physical disk from amazon mate just for the code/serial in the packaging.
Ms download+key is $100+

You download windows 10 home using the media creation tool here (you need a 4gb flash drive - I would suggest 8gb for future use , this will format it)

http://microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Select the USB option .
It will create a boot able USB drive for you.

Install using that flash drive , input the key from your amazon bought DVD during installation

Thanks, you may be able to help me with this as well. When on pcpartpicker site I have a slight warning for compatibility. It states "The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6Gb/s port is disabled."

Will any of my storage, wifi adapter, or anything of the like have a problem running off/ using the ports on my motherboard due to this error?

(Not sure what it means tbh)

Thanks.

M2 drives come in 2 formats , ahci (which uses sata as a base) - when using one of these 1 or 2 sata ports are required for bandwidth - meaning you can't use an m2 drive & ALL 6 sata ports simultaneously.

Your ssd is the second type though - nvme - this solely uses LCI express lanes rather than sata.

Your 960 evo will go in m2 slot 2 centre board below CPU socket & should not use any sata ports (although it does say it will disable 1)

Not an issue anyway (unless for some future reason you are planning on running another 5 hard drives , which/is unlikely??)
