Don't know exactly where to fit this in, but will start in W10 forum.
Had been running W10 1508/1607 on a 250gb SSD for a year with no major problems. Had also cloned the drive to my SSD/HDD hybrid drive. Upgraded to the anniversary edition, then 3 weeks later, the whole disc crashed - OS and all data lost.
Switched to the clone, tried to reload W10 onto the SSD, but was told that was not possible because the disc format was MBR.
Then the clone disc crashed, nothing left except unallocated MBR partitions. Reformatted the SSD to GPT, loaded W10 1703, all running ok.
What could have caused the SSD to be changed from GPT to MBR format?
Kaspersky couldn't help with a virus solution, and I have only found one similar reference on the net, and that concerned W7. No joy from W10 Forums either.
BIOS had always been set to UEFI/LEGACY.

Software was Easus todo free version, for back-ups and other functions, including cloning. Great software, but am now using the paid version and cannot get it to work. Please note, SSD was in GPT format as required to load original W10.
