I am looking for a cheap medium/small sized display to be used mostly for console games and the odd movie/TV show. I HATE TN color shift and i HATE IPS glow and BL bleed. So, VA is very appealing to me. Reading reviews on the Benq GW2760HS (cheapest 27 inch i can find at $199CAD) it's got great blacks, most seem to have very low BL bleed, good angles and very low input lag. But it has pretty average/poor pixel response (says 4ms but its really around 10.9ms). I was originally going to buy a 28 or 32 inch TV but since almost all of the smaller inexpensive TVs are VA.. they would also have pretty slow pixel response, no? More than likely worse than even the slowest VA monitor? The Vizio D32-D1 i was looking at is VA and was reviewed at 11ms. People seem to really like it for gaming. I can't find any 27/8 inch 1080p TVs in Canada (Well, from a good brand/store/return policy anyways).

So, i guess my question is .. If you where looking for a medium size display for console games would this monitor at least be better then your average budget TV for motion? Is the slight blur trade off vs a fast IPS/TN worth it for me? Also, since consoles are mostly 30FPS wouldn't that make the response time mater even less than at 60? I read that 60hz is 16.something between frames and im not sure if that translates to 32.something if running a game at 30fps on a 60hz panel. I dont fully understand it lol

I play mostly 3rd person and platform stuff. With the odd FPS thrown in from time to time.

I see a lot of stuff like this

when reading about gaming on VA monitors. But its hard to tell if the camera is exaggerating it. I cannot find any info on if VA TVs also do it either. Reminds me of the GBA 101 screens heh.

And before you tell me to just buy IPS.. I really cannot stand IPS glow. And most are glossy as frig. My main screen is a 27in glossy IPS and it is great. But for dark games.. not so much
