Need Help Setting Dual Monitors Up

Hello, I am quite new to multiple monitors and I'm having some questions that need answering.

First off here is my specs:
2 monitors, both have access to vga and hdmi

Graphics Card:
3gb Geforce gtx 1060 (EVGA)
3x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x DL-DVI, 1x HDMI 2.0b

I'm currently using a hdmi cable to my first monitor. My other monitor is not in use currently.

I'm thinking of getting a Display port to VGA adapter that I can use to connect my second monitor.

Hello... a "passive" DVI to Hdmi cable would keep all things 'Digital" and not affect latency... also they make low cost DVI to HDMI "Passive" adaptors.
