Hi,
Yesterday, I set up a 2nd monitor mostly for statistical/tracking purposes of apps running on the main monitor.
Right now, I have WWE 2k17 up and running and according to CPUID, my 760 SC 2GB is showing 92% usage while max usage is 100%. I assume usage is referring to how many cuda cores are currently being used. GPU Vram is currently sitting at 74% utilization and max 98%. CPU usage rate is around 45% with random peaks going up to 90%. RAM is about 55%.
As for temps under these usages, I am averaging 55-60C for the CPU and 62 C for the GPU. Getting new premium thermal paste, cryorig h7, and properly reseating the cooler enabled me to reduce idle temps by 5 C and temps under load by 20 C.
I am waiting to get a 970 ACX 2.0 4GB back from RMA from EVGA. Once I have it, I can hopefully start using shadowplay to get an fps counter in game because I heard having 2 monitoring software can cause issues?
What I'm wondering is, since I know the GPU is my bottleneck now and not because of temp,
#1 With the increased vram and cuda cores, I assume utilization rate will go down and I won't suffer fps issues anymore?
#2 Is it worth upgrading to a 1060/1070 to get better fps or is it not worth it?
#3 Are these numbers I'm getting from CPUID accurate at all? I also use EVGA Precision X and it showed essentially the exact same GPU stats
