Hello.
Not long ago i built my first ever PC build and never bought an ssd due to budget constraints.
I now have the funds to buy a 250GB Samsung 850 evo ssd and i was wondering how to migrate everything from my 1tb hard drive (I've used 180gb) to the new ssd. I've seen a tool called EaseUS which claims that it will clone my hard drive to put it onto an ssd but i want to know from someone of experience on how it went. I've also seen multiple videos on how to do this but a question always comes to mind, Do i just format the 1tb hard drive after i have finished cloning or not?
Could someone with experience of cloning from HDD to SSD please tell me how easy it is and what software you used because this would really help me out. I want to be confitent before i make this purchase :).
Thanks.

OK then.
These steps, in order, no substitutions or omissions:
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the original boot partitions, here:
