What would be the best monitor me

I just recently bought an Acer XB271H for the 144hz, which is a 1080p display. My current card is a 970 gigabyte gaming. I have read that 27 inches by too big for 1080p resolution and not good for playing League of Legends on. Should I send the 27 inch monitor back and get the 24 inch version? There is a 1440p 27 inch display by acer with 144hz. My goal is to be able to play all games at max setting using 144hz. Should I get the GTX 1080ti and the 1440p monitor, or get the 27 inch Acer that is 1080p 240hz. Money is not an issue. I just love the butter smoothness of the 144hz, but I do not want to play on a 24 inch montir, just feels too small. Any suggestions?

If your just playing league, the 1080p 144hz would be fine if you don't mind 1080p.

1440p 144hz 27" is a whole 'nother step however, basically requiring a whole new graphics card and more expensive monitor. If money REALLY isn't an issue, then this is your best choice performance-wise.

If money is not an issue then yes a 1080 ti with a Dell S2716DG (27", 1440p, 144hz, 1ms/3ms, gsync/ulmb - on sale at best buy for $470).

Then again what is your cpu? You'll need fast with a lot of threads (i.e. 8) to hit high frame rates in games like Battlefield 1. Great gpu isn't always enough. Need 16gb of ram too...

Since 1080p seems to be off to the graveyard soon, would my processor and ( i7-4790K CPU @4.00hz 16.0 GB RAM) be ok with a 1440p 144hz G-sync monitor be ok for me? Sometimes I play games like Overwatch and Tom Clancy's Siege. I would think I would have to have a bigger PSU as well. Since I can still return my Acer XB271H, I thought 1440p would be a better investment. What do you think?

I'd try it with what you have and if any cores stay at 100%, push that up to 4.5/4.6ghz and see if that helps.
