Hi,

I am looking into a complete upgrade to my current system which is about five years old now. I have a budget of about $3500 AUD, to include all components (PC, screen, new speakers etc) with the only exclusions being Mouse/Keyboard and another monitor.

I am looking to make a twin 27" monitor setup, one 4k, one 120hz 1080p. This will be used for editing on two screens and also multitasking during gaming. I will be using the PC for both 4k video/creative work and also for 4k gaming. I am looking for the best performance possible, with editing speed being a priority. I will have two separate operating systems, each one for gaming and video editing exclusively.

The theory is I will load video footage onto the SSD drive and edit on that drive, then transferring the project onto the HDD for storage ensuring fast editing. I will also be interested into doing some light overclocking of the CPU, but not anything extreme.

This will be my first build without help so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gamer will always choose higher refresh rate over resolution.
4K gaming is a marketing BS. Even if you into this BS, why wold you need 120Hz monitor for anything but gaming ? there is no benefit in it at all.
Anyway, up to you.
The CPU for your purpose should be at least i7 or Ryzen 7.
To overclock a CPU you need Z270 or X370 mother board respectively.
the ram should be 3000MHz CL15 or faster
why 2x250 SSDs ? A single larger SSD is much more convenient.
