I posted this because I did not know how to find these instructions via Search.
And, this provides a few more Search keywords to try :)
Roland with the help of a mod :)

In order to change the email associated with their accounts, users have to perform the following steps:
1) Go to account settings: http://www.tomshardware.com/community/account
2) Under "Related Accounts", they must click "Add account"
3) From here, they must register and confirm a new account.
4) They then must log in with this second account, using the newly registered email.
4A) This will result in them being logged in to the original account.
4B) The dummy account is never used again and becomes inaccessible, despite still being, for all intents and purposes, present and existing in the database.
5) Then they have to navigate back to account settings
6) Under "Related Accounts", they need to hit "Edit" and choose the new email to act as the main email.
Extra notes:
- Say the account was created via social media methods. User then adds/changes the email associated and removes the original email, linked to social media (who wants multiple emails associated?). They will no longer be able to log in via social media methods.
- User has an email address associated with both their main account and the dummy created to switch emails. Removing this email from their main account's "Related Accounts" results in the email defaulting back to the dummy account when using it to log in.
- All associated emails can be used to log in to the main account as long as it is listed under the "Related Accounts". Dummy accounts are totally inaccessible.
