Is it compatible? I have an i5 3750k and a 600w psu. The specs on the psu says it has an 8 pin pci-e connector with 2 removable pins. I currently have a gtx 550 ti oc'd to 1GHz. I can't get any more speed out of it without crashing. So will the 1060 fit my mobo? More importantly, is it supported? OS is Win 7 64bit.

That GTX 1060 will 100% fit in your motherboard as long as you have a PCI X16 slot, although you won't get the maximum performance out of it because it sounds like you only have a 2.0 one and not a 3.0 one.

Make sure to google your motherboard to find out though, but other then that yes. It'll fully work with your computer.

What type of PSU do you have though? Because brand wise could matter whether or not it supports the 1060 at all, because for all we know you could have a really bad brand PSU which likely isn't 600w and is probably more close to 200w max to begin with.

The box says the pci interface is Gen 3. It has 3 x16 slots. The psu is a thermaltake, I will be getting it replaced with a better one from Newegg next week. It'll be 2 to 4 weeks before the card gets here, I can get a psu in 2 to 4 days, just couldn't afford it all on one weeks pay.

Thankfully your getting that Thermal take PSU replaced pronto because it's quite a bad PSU. Definitely isn't going to support the GTX 1060 at all without likely destroying it-self in the process (along with your 1060 unless you're lucky)

What PSU are you getting it replaced with?

I thought the CX series from Corsair were lower tier and advised to stay away from? I found a nice EVGA 750 GQ gold for a decent price, I feel like that would cover me well into the future
