Help with virus scan

I am wanting to clean up my dad's old hard drive of viruses, but I want to do it from my computer and keep his fully functioning with his computer. I use Kaspersky Total Security. Can I just put his drive in my computer and, without taking ownership of the drive?

yes you can, you just have to install kaspersky on his drive, run the scan and you'll be fine

I strongly suggest you get a USB dock and connect the drive with that.
This will prevent any possibility of it trying to boot from that drive.You can run the scan directly from your PC without having to install anything on dad's drive.
