Booted windows and got a low resolution of 800x600, lost signal after 30 seconds

This relates a lot with my last post so if you read that it might help.
So today i tried turning on my computer and the problem i ran into was that i booted into my monitor, but the resolution was really low. I went to check and it was 800x600 and i couldn't change it. 30 seconds later it disconnected.
Help would be appreciated and thanks.

what is the gpu? could be failing.

its a 1070 by asus. but i dont think its failing because my comp works with my second monitor which is 1920x1200. the orginal monitor is 1920x1080
