Is Intel I7 4790S decent?

I'm looking to swap over to an lga 1150 I7 processor.
I currently have an asus h97 pro gamer motherboard + an i3 Processor

Yes its a strong processor and a good upgrade over an i3, but it also depends on what graphics cardyou have though.

Btw I also went from an i3 to an i7 4790, just not the S edition, but performance wise there shouldnt be much of a difference.

i currently use gtx 980ti should i be fine?
