Recover files from a formatted drive

Hi all,

My pc recently had a major malfunction and so i had to do a reinstall of windows from the recovery partition. Everything went well, but obviously i lost all my files from the previous installation. I tried Easeus which found the files, but when i tried to restore them, they all show as unreadable. Does anybody know of any way to get the files back? They are mainly photos, but hold sentimental value.

If easeus shows the files as unreadable chances are new files was written over the files you are trying to restore. recovery is not likely at all.

sorry for you loss but this shows the importance of regular backups. you should consider a file backup plan in the future of import files/pictures.

Possibly try TestDisk.
But you will need another drive to maybe recover to. And even then, I would not hold out much hope.

I am so sorry that such a nuisance has happened to you! Once I picked up a virus which literally destroyed all my files! Luckily I found a website that solved my problem and I got back every my destroyed file! I hope it helps you! Good luck!
