Total PC noob here.
Looking to build my first ever gaming PC. I want the best audio I can get, not just stereo sound for PC gaming.
This is the motherboard I will probably get: GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H. It supports 5.1 surround, but nothing stated about Dolby Digital or DTS sound.
My question: if I have a GTX 1060 and hook that HDMI connection to my home theater receiver (which can output Dolby Digital & DTS), will the receiver "take control" and output Dolby & DTS sound or does the motherboard "take control" for my sound output?
Or do I need a a Dolby / DTS sound card?
Do PC games even support DTS or Dolby surround?
