Hi , I have windows 10 on my current PC which was the free upgrade that Microsoft gave us at the time. Now I am going to upgrade my motherboard CPU and ram. The copy of windows I have is a retail one (according to a cmd command that shows what you have) but as it was a free upgrade , how do I install windows 10. Do I have to install 7 then 10 on top ? Or will my windows 7 key work on windows 10?

If anyone would please post a comment below. Thanks :pt1cable:

No particular order.
And you can install all the hardware first.

No need to reinstall Win 7 again first.

But read and do this before changing any parts:

1. Windows has a funny/bad habit of installing the boot info on the 'other drive'

2. To prevent any possible mistakes. "Yeah, yeah...I'll be careful."
Yet every day here, we see people freaking out because they wiped out the wrong drive.

Takes just a few seconds to connect the other drive(s) after the OS is installed.
