So I just bought and installed my first aftermarket radio, connected all the wires and made sure they were solid (not loose) and I went to play some music and the sound is coming only from the right side. The left side is completely mute. I doubled check the wires, and they are all going to the correct color and they are not loose.

I am new to this and I am clueless why this is happening. I bought a radio harness and I used all the wires except for a single orange one (because there is no orange wire on the radio), could that be the reason why?

Here is my aftermarket radio: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004S50WPG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

And here is the adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002BEWZQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Solution
If you know which wires arer for the speakers, you could reverse the left side with the right side to see if the head unit is bad. If you only get sound from the left after the switch, the unit has a bad channel, or it might need the balance control adjusted.

The orange wire is most likely a power out line to power amps or crossovers, or it might be an alternate "always on" source needed by some units.
