Every time i try to boot up my pc, I get a "diagnosing your pc" message, then a black screen, then "preparing automatic repair" before the message your pc could not start correctly. Under troubleshooting I have tried to do system restores, resets, even use the command prompt to correct the error but none of them work.

Whenever I try to resolve the issue it always says "we ran into a problem..."

I would prefer if i could keep the files on my pc as they are important but any fix will do. Thanks!

You can try to repair, and it will give you some troubleshooting steps like resetting Windows. https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/reset-windows-10-pc
Well, this is known as a Startup Repair loop. It happens when your PC did not shut down properly. Before you see the Windows logo, tap F8 into you are getting some Advanaced Settings. This will allow you to select Last Known Good Configuration, and you should be able to boot in. If it does work, make sure you restart to make sure it resolves the issue.

If that doesn't work, we may need to do a Windows refresh which will allow you to keep your files. We can also do a "Clean" install without removing your partitions. This will put your current Windows installation in a Windows.old folder and you can go in the User and get your files.

F8 doesn't seem to do anything. I'm pretty much just stuck at the blue screen. I'm not able to system restore or system refresh. I can't reset or do anything they all give errors.

Just download this - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 , plug in the 8GB stick, and run it.

It will download Windows 10, and put it on your USB stick. Do note, your USB will be formatted, so all data will be erased. Once it's installed in, boot from your USB. Remember, do not delete the partitions. Instead, just do a clean isntall, and move it along. It should prompt you that your old files will be placed in Windows.old.

However, I would click "Repair Windows" in the bottom left first and try to do some restores.

System restores do not delete files, however, if you installed a program after the point you are restoring to, it will not be there.

Your last resort may be just do a clean install without removing the partitions. Once you are in Windows, there should be a Windows.old folder in the C:\ drive.

Right so i'm on the installation for the USB right now. It says install now, but to the bottom left its giving me an option to repair. I'm assuming I can't repair because it's on the USB and not the hard drive. Do i keep going ahead with the installation until it asks me about the partitions?
