The description says it all, the component is a black cube with two connection prongs, it has the numbers r23 1432 printed on it and is labeled LP9 on the PCB. If anyone can help find the part (or one that will work in its place) it would be much appreciated. I think it is part of the on-board PSU but Im not totally sure.

P.s. Anyone know how I can post a picture?

I upload to an image host and post the link in the forum

in any case I would not attempt to repair a motherboard component, diode, capacitor, choke, or anything else.
ebay has many of those motherboards available. it would be much easier to replace the entire motherboard than a failed circuit on the board. sad but true.
link is an example only shop around for yourself

I'd be surprised if that single component was the only thing damaged.

I'm guessing it's a resistor. I couldn't Google any details.

It seems to be socket LGA1156 with an atypical motherboard size. I think it may be a lost cause trying to fix this PC.

Fair enough, it's the only one with brown burn marks around the contacts, I have to assume its the only one damaged.
