Im Baffled: EXACT same ram, different format, huge speed difference???

(ergo same latency, frequency etc all ident) should have the same Speeds from what ive read on These Forums.

So my question is, can someone explain this: https://ibb.co/fO7H2k to me.

how is the left one so much faster, especially on Multi core, that Speed difference seems absolutely astronomical.... Am I missing something?

please educate me.

I agree. It doesn't make sense.
There's no way the small to non-existent difference between dual and quad channel can account for this - everything else being equal.

Could it be that 16GB kit is single-rank while the higher capacity one is dual rank? That might explain.

Also, small edit: That's an average benchmark. Most likely more users use 2X8gb kit at a higher freq. than 2X16GB version.

4 modules kits tested in X99 motherboards can skew the results.

I was thinking the same but it's a very nominal performance difference (like dual channel vs quad). Shouldn't be depicted nearly as high as it is.
I'm going to go ahead and call shenanigans on this one!
