So I have an issue where only DIMM slots 3 & 4 work and was wondering how much of a performance loss I'll actually have with my DDR4 memory compared to them being in proper configuration to work in Dual Channel mode of slot 2 & 4 for example.

P.S. I'm at the point where I suspect installing the heat sink back plate caused the problem since a new MB and CPU still had the same issue and I really want to know if it matters since I don't plan to add more memory in the future anyways. 2x8gb for 16gb total. (even flashed bios to newest release)

Don't worry about it. Dual channel only improves performance a couple of percent in general computing and gaming. If you're running number crunching/statistical software or some CAD programs, then dual channel provides a significant boast.
