144 or 120?

I got a good monitor as an upgrade a month ago, a BenQ Zowie XL2430 (144hz)

But Im currently using at 120, because it said "optimal settings"

Now, is this true? there is gonna be a downside in 144 like more ghosting or something?

some panels come with a native refresh rate of 120hz which is overclokable to 144hz. if ur games exceed 120fps, go with 144hz. otherwise u r good with 120hz. Zowie is an esports certified model. so i dont think u will see ghosting even if u r running @ 144hz.
