Considerations for using 4K tv as display

Hi, I'm coming up with a new build but instead of using a monitor I'd like to use my 4k tv which is 40".

Is there anything I need to consider when picking the gpu? I was thinking about using a 1060 6GB.

GPU seems a little weak for 4k, but you know what kind of software and settings you intend to run.

Also important, based on the software you intend to run........what is the refresh rate of the tv and is that acceptable to you? What kind of processing does it do to the picture? What is the true input and processing lag? Can you defeat said processing to improve display lag if that is what you desire?

What gpu would you recommend? I haven't checked any of that stuff so I'll have to. I'm glad I asked, I didn't really know much about using 4K displays.

Hello Wolve. All depends on your intended use. Productivity / video editing / games?

If games, what games ? Some will run ok at true 4k if you turn settings down, and aren't very demanding. Other games pretty much require a 1080ti for reasonable frame rates at true 4k. You'll have to look for some benchmarks for specific games you may be considering. If you are going to go for an upscaled 1080P picture, then the 1060 should be adequate. The 1060 should be considered a marginal/reasonable card for smooth 2560x1440 or great for 1080 output.
