Virus help needed quick

I somehow installed a virus on my PC where is changes your webpage to mail.ru and a lot of Russian stuff downloads. I went and installed malawarebytes and went into safe mode and ran a scan and let it scan over night I can back and it said the scan was cancelled. So I closed it to try again and then when I tried to open it it said unable to connect to service. So I went to uninstall it and it said could not call protacal. So I went back to regular windows and tried to install AVG but when it quit downloading it said it was corrupt. So I went back and tried to launch malawarebytes as administrator but a big red pop up said we blocked this program for your protection even though it is a anti virus. I need help quick.

Disconnect you computer from the internet, should have done that 1st. Do you have access to another computer?

I just ended up resetting my computer from a backup I have saved and then ran a virus scan.
