Car lost power and knocking sound from engine.

Hi i have a BMW 5 series e60 2004. I recently over filled it with oil. Drained all the oil out left it dry. But there's this sound coming from the engine. Like a Lound knocking sound. Any idea's what I can do to fix this and the car is still low on power when driving it pulls very weak.

So that I get this right you drained it then ran it or you were hearing the knocking sound with it over filled? Also how much did you over fill it by? I am going to have to take a guess and say that its a spun bearing. How many miles does it have?
