Moving windows only from an hdd to ssd

Is there a way to only move windows from hdd to ssd witouth moving rest of the data or can i remove my hdd then and install windows on the ssd and then apply hdd back and delete the windows folder from it?

2nd option is best idea. Make sure hdd not added to boot order once you put it back in or PC may want to boot both.

you can take ownership of the windows folders on old install once win 10 installed on USB

I installed "Take Ownership" to be able to take control of difficult files and folders.
