Problem with Windows 10 Home activation after updating mobo and other components.

Hello everyone

So as the title says, i cant activate my windows copy which i bought online.

I already tried linking the microsoft account but for some reason after putting in my login credentials it asks me for a "Windows Password" to verify its me. I try using my same password since i have no other and it says its incorrect, and it also did with that is and no luck, it also says to leave it blank if You have a windows password but doing that also makes the "password incorrect" message to pop up, which i guess implies i do have one.

I am using Windows 10 Home 64bit

Version: 1703

OS Build: 15063.413

Any ideas on what this password is? How do i fix the issue?

The 'password' would be for your Microsoft account.
Not the OS you've installed

At this point, your only recourse is to call MS and talk to a human.

Wait... please explain the EXACT procedure.

I believe it works like this:
1. buy key (some may not be legal)
2. create W10 media disc if you don't have one given (I recommend 8GB USB stick unless DVD-DL and DVD burner is handy):

3. boot to USB/DVD to start Install
4. type in KEY

So...
You have installed W10 already I think, but it needs to be ACTIVATED. Where is the key?

You bought Windows online. They must have linked you to a key or given one in an e-mail.
