DFI LP DK X58 Lanparty Board croaked. :( But $200 deal might solve my problems. Thoughts?

So I went to upgrade the RAM in my system and put a random 4GB DDR3 chip in it alongside my other RAM. When it started up, I smelled the burnt electronic smell of death...all of my other components (including RAM), work fine in another build. I bought a six core Xeon to confirm if my suspicious were true, and the board just won't post anymore. The LED lights come on, and it powers on, just no post, I swapped all sorts of RAM, different CPUs, etc etc. Took it out of the case and set on a board to eliminate possible shorting. Also cleared CMOS, etc, tried different PSU, etc...Any other ideas?

Either way, I found this deal for $200...what do you all think?

Took a tiny piece of copper wire off my speaker wire, and taped it to bottom of my broken mobo. Found where the copper line 'fried' and now it works!
