Hi, I was wondering if my display is a monitor or a tv or a combination of both. It says HDTV monitor on it. I am building a pc soon and was wondering if its good for gaming for csgo ect. I think the model is T24C300. I understand there is all that stuff about response times and refresh rate but idk what my monitors response time and refresh rate is. It's also 24 inches.

TVs and monitors are very similiar.

The main difference is that Tv's have TV tuners and other tv specific features such as internet connectivity that allow you to do other things.

A monitor won't have internet connectivity since its assumed you will be connecting it to a computer to acquire said capabilities.

I use a 37" Sony TV as my monitor, getting kinda old but it works well.

As for performance, monitors tend to be better than tv's for gaming;

G-sync/freesync, higher refresh rate, higher resolutions(although both go up to 4k now).

But having said that you can have awesome tvs and terrible monitors, for gaming depending on what you choose.

Some tv's come with horrendous input lag that makes them unsuitable for even playing pong on.

are the specs for your monitor.

Your refresh rate is 60 hertz which is standard for the majority of the nongaming monitors today.

A 5ms response time is ok. I'll give it a C+.

For comparison a gaming monitor would be closer to a 144 hertz refresh rate with a 1 ms response time.

Something like the:

Solution
While 60hz is ok as mostly is about all the human eye notice differances. The latency on the other hand you may see before image a bit. The colors dont change fast enough and cause this issue.
