Not trustworthy I'd say. The FX-4300 stock cooler is pretty crappy without an overclock already. Overclocking is slightly out of league for that little ah heck.

Buying/Using an aftermarket cooler is kind of an unwritten law in the world of overclocking. You should get something decent while you're at it, too, so you can take that cooler to your next platform.

Yep. Unless it's the newer Wraith cooler that AMD provides, you really can't expect to overclock on the "stock" cooler -- & even then, there's no what that a Wraith cooler can manage to get those CPUs up to 4.8GHz (unless maybe you keep it in a sub-zero freezer 24/7).

That is the Wraith cooler on a 8 core FX CPU .

Given that your CPU is a 4 core FX Vishera (like mine in sig.), these release considerably less heat. That being said, you should not set voltage higher than 1.42500V on the stock cooler.

I suggest you set voltage to 1.40000V and work from there. At this voltage you may achieve 4.2-4.5 GHz depending on luck. My FX 4350 gotten 4.4 GHz then when I had the stock cooler.

Do monitor your CPU temps to make sure it stays below 61.1°C.

Good luck overclocking! :)
