Hi there,

I want to build a PC mainly for 4K gaming on games like Fallout 4, DOOM and Ghost Recon Wild lands but also to do a bit of VR gaming aswell using the HTC Vive.

My budget is £1500-£1550 just for the whole PC not including monitor etc thats a seperate budget......

I haven't decided on the case yet but want a cool / unique looking case, i really like the CyberpowerPC cases but right now am a bit set on the AeroCool P7-C1 Midi Tower case (it looks sick).

I want one SSD for my OS etc and then 1 or 2 large HDDs, also wanted ur guys thoughts on what operating system as i still use and love Windows 7 but read somewhere that its better to use Windows 10 for 4k and Virtual Reality...?

I know for sure Im getting the Zotac GTX 1080 AMP Extreme Edition card as it seems the best for what i need (60 FPS 4K Fallout 4 etc) and has great reviews.

I'm in the UK so if u guys could just create and post a link to your suggested builds from UKpcpartpicker.com that would be the best way.

Thanks!

The zotac 1080 amp extreme may be sufficient for most games at 4k, depending on what you set your graphics settings to, I would also have to recommend a 1080ti. I believe you will be much happier going with this due to it being less than or about $100 more. This will give you a bit more life out of the system as well and future proof it for newer games coming out. I would also recommend windows 10 over 7, just due to the fact that 7 will be EOL in 2020 and you'd be forced to upgrade anyway. As far as the rest of the parts go, I haven't looked into that too much, I'll have to get back with you in a moment.

4K gaming really should get the 1080Ti. Fallout you might be able to get away with the 1080 but GRW and Doom will require the 1080Ti. The 1080Ti is about 30% faster than the regular 1080.

That budget might be tight depending on what cpu, motherboard and ram I guess. If you minimize the bling you might be able to get it close to 1500.

I own a GTX 1080 and play all of my games in 4K, have yet to feel like my GPU is really holding me back. Doom @4K Ultra on a GTX 1080 averages 60 FPS. Obviously if OP can afford a 1080ti, go for it, but I'm just sayin.

With 1500£ you can have a very nice gaming PC using the 1080 ti from Zotac.

I'd suggest two different routes. First uses an i7-7700K and the second uses an R7-1600X. Both are strong CPUs.
