The NAS was set up with 4 drives in a RAID 1 configuration. It just stopped working and won't turn on so I assume the PSU has died. I've no real desire to resurrect it as I can get the same amount of storage from two 256Gb thumbdrives. So my question is what is the easiest/cheapest way to get the data out from the drives?

I've seen items on ebay like this LINK and wondered if that is the best way to go?

Any advice is welcome.

Cheers,
Geoff.

Really? Is it as simple as that? I assumed that existing RAID 1 disks would require at least 1 pair of the drives to be connected to some sort of raid controller? Are you saying I can simply take a drive and stick it in an external USB SATA reader and I should be able to read the content of that drive? Then do the other? That would be awesome.
