Does using a 144HZ monitor decreases the FPS?

That's a simple question. Does having a 120/144HZ Monitor instead of a 60HZ Monitor decreases the FPS?

Upgrading to a display that refreshes faster does not add any additional load to your PC. The monitor itself has the hardware to have a fast refresh rate.

for example: If you were previously playing overwatch and obtaining a constant 100FPS. switching to a 120/144hz monitor wont affect your FPS (assuming resolution remains the same)
