I was thinking this PC is just garbage but it has a nice motherboard that already has SATA and PCI-express.
I can upgrade to AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ and 4GB of DDR2, with an SSD drive that I have unused. The GPU is a bit harder to know what to get but probably a GT640 or close it to. I confirmed PSU and motherboard are working. I understand probably that GPU won't give 100% it's power because of mobo limitations and older bandwidth but not sure if it will be very, very constraining or not. Current GPU is broken so really need a new one.
Total upgrade cost is around 70€.
Main goal is to support Minecraft and older games to entertain a 10 year old during vacations.
Do you think it's worth it or I can get a mobo+cpu+ram+gpu for not much more and that's a better use of money? Maybe I'm trying to recycle more than its worth it? I just hate to throw away things that still work fine :\
Also, would the PC be OK for use or the bandwidth limitations of DDR2 and motherboard will just kill all power of the SSD and newer GPU?
